STRUCTURE AND THE FORM OF RELEASE
1 litre of a solution contains
Sodium Chloride....9 g
Other components: water for an injection.
100, 250, 400, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000 ml of solution in plastic PVC containers.
Ions of sodium and chloride are considered as the most important inorganic components of outer cell fluid maintaining the osmotic pressure of blood plasma and outer cell fluid. The isotonic solution fills up the fluid deficit in the organism during dehydration. During local administration in ophthalmology solution of Sodium Chloride 0.9% gives anti dropsical effect.
Isotonic solution of Sodium Chloride never causes irritating, effect on tissues.
Administration of isotonic solution of Sodium Chloride is intravenous, hypodermic and during enema. It is also used for irrigation of wounds, eyes and the mucilaginous membrane of nasal cavity. More often it is applied in intravenouslyr dependant on the clinical situation – up to 3 liter a day.
SIDE-EFFECTS AND PRECAUTIONS
Excessive introduction of the Solution Sodium Chloride 0.9% may cause chloride acidosis, hyperhydration, increase of potassium deduction from the organism, hypernatriemy, peripheral oedema, oedema of lungs, brain dehyderation causing drowsiness, confusion of consciousness, cramps, coma etc.
Solution of Sodium Chloride 0,9% is contraindicated during hypernatriemy, hypertensive disorders, coronary deficiency, peripheral oedema, oedema of lungs, pre-eclampsy, during treatments with excessive introduction of cordico-steroids, kidney disorders.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

Excessive amounts of the Solution of Sodium Chloride 0,9% is applied cautiously with patients having heavy kidney disorders and during hypocalemy. Application of excessive amounts of the solution can cause chloride acidosis hyperhydration, increase of potassium deduction from the organism. During long-term application of the solution it is necessary to control the concentration of electrolytes in the plasma and daily diuresis. The temperature of the intravenous solution must be 38 oÑ.
STORAGE CONDITIONS AND SHELF LIFE
The preparation should be stored in a dry place protected from light at temperature not higher than 25 oÑ. ÑExpiry date of the intravenous solution is 2 years.
