STRUCTURE AND THE FORM OF RELEASE
1 litre of a solution contains
Novocain hydrochloride ... 2.5 g
Hydrochloric acid solution 0.1N... to pH 3.8-4.5
Other ingredients: water for injection.
100, 200, 250 ml of solution in plastic PVC container.


PHARMACOLOGICAL EFFEC
Novocaine 0.25% Solution is considered as a local anesthetic. Besides its local anesthetic effect it could have a general effect on îorganism during spontaneous administration into blood stream, and reduce formation of acetylcholine, as well as reduce irritability of peripheric cholinergic system. It has a blocking effect on vegetative ganglion, reduces spasm of plain muscular system, pathogen effect of coronary muscles as well motor zones of cerebrum (brain) crust. It has an analgesic and anti-shock activity, as well as anti- arrhythmic effect.

INDICATIONS FOR ADMINISTRATION
Novocaine 0.25% solution is used for local anesthesia, mostly by infiltration, it is also recommended for the treatment of different diseases. Novocaine blockade relieves reflex reaction appearing during development of pathologic processes. During paranefral blockade Novocaine 0.25% solution (50-80 ml) is infused near kidney cellular tissue. Novocaine solutions are used for intravenous administrations during hypertensive disease, late toxicosis during pregnancy with hypertensive syndrome, spasms of blood vessels, phantom pains, stomach and duodenum ulcers, itches, glaucoma, etc.). Intracutaneous injections of Novocaine 0.25% Solution is recommended for circulation and paravertebral blockage, eczema, neurodermit, sciatica etc. Novocaine is as well taken for dissolving benzylpenicillin for prolongation of its expiry.

DOSAGE
10-15 ml of Novocaine 0,25% solution is infused into veins through intravenous injection. It is injected slowly, better if mixed with isotonic solution of sodium Chloride. The capacity of injection (sometimes up to 10-20) is dependant on the severity of the disease and effectiveness of recovery. During infiltration anesthesia the first dosage of the preparation at the start of operation should not exceed 150 ml. Afterwards during the operation not more than 400 ml.

SIDE-EFFECTS
Novocaine solutions should be received with caution. In few cases there have been observed individual heightened sensitivity towards the preparation in few patients (dizziness, weakness, nausea, shock, collapse low blood pressure). Allergic reaction is also possible (dermatitis, peeling etc.).

CONTRAINDICATION
Individual intolerance towards the preparation>

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Novocaine 0.25% solution is prescribed during late toxicosis in pregnant women with hypertensive syndrome.

SPECIAL INDICATIONS
At the beginning the preparation is prescribed in small doses to detect individual intolerance towards the preparation. Preparation is absorbed through mucus membrane. ) Doesn't guarantee surface anesthesia.

STORAGE CONDITIONSA AND SHELF LIFE
The preparation must be stored in a dark place protected from light in regular conditions. Expiry date of the intravenous solution - 2 years.
